Mom, Head Seamstress

Good news! My mom took pity on me and came out from Arizona to help me sew the 35-ish garments in my next book. I've had her working away since she got here. (Thanks, Mom!)

Here we are, posing like we're working.

She's been sewing while I'm finishing up the patterns. It's like having two of me!

Henry has kept us good company. Here he is in a nest of muslin.

Ok, back to the workshop!

    As the mother of a 22-year old daughter, NOTHING would delight me and puff me up with pride more than to be able to help my child with a book that she created. And, from the look on your mom's face, I think she feels pretty much about the same! This makes me very happy for both of you!

    Oh, Moms, what would we do without them? My mom hates sewing, but she came to the rescue when I had a stiff deadline I wasn't going to make... That mother-daughter thing is precious. You and your mother look so adorable together!

    Wow super mom on the rescue! Lots of lovely evenings spent sewing with my mum, hopefully will spend lots of those with my baby girl some day (not 3yo yet!). Lovely job that gives you the chance to sew like this. Lucky girl!

    Love the post and your pics. There is nothing like having a Mom that will help you out when you need it most. I am so blessed to have had a mother that taught me how to sew when I was nine and it is wonderful to see you include your mother in your book project. How sweet :-D

    Lucky you, to have a mum that sews as well, mine was great at knitting but hopeless at sewing.

    Is that the Pfaff Select 4 I see, great machine.

    Your post reminds me of how I got interested in sewing. Yes, my mom made me. Since I was in elementary school, she often says that I should be able to sew. At least able to replace a broken zipper. My mom also sewed her own clothes back then. And here I am now with basic sewing + basic pattern making skills which I am glad of. I couldn't have skilled if it's not she engouraged me to take a course.
