Rocking Out


Hi readers! I know I've been scarce around these parts. Have I mentioned that I need to sew 35 garments by the end of next month? That's when we're shooting book #2.

In the mean time, I did have my big rock performance (see above) and it went well. I finished the leather accent dress but then didn't wear it (I know, I know). I was feeling more casual and I threw together a quick outfit with a bustier top and capri jeans. Photos of the dress are coming soon though!

Also: cutest Henry picture ever, thanks to my friend Martin.

I seriously want a tattoo of his face.

Okay, back to the sweatshop!

    Just discovered book #1 at my local library. I never want to give it back! I can't wait to see book #2. Good luck with the sewing, hang in there!

    Wow.. that is a lot of sewing! But you have mad sewing skills so I am sure you can do it. Congratulations on Book 2! And your kitty, Henry, what an adorable cat. Just makes me want to hug and squeeze him!

    Wow, 35 garments - many more than I make in a whole year^^But I'm sure you will make it!!

    I'm so excited for book two. Right now I'm making my second garment from book 1, well did I mention that I can be a very lazy seamstress from time to time ;)

    Henry is so adorable!! Get him tattoed, I will get my two ladies on my body, too.

    Oh i secretly wish i could just sit and sew 35 garments, but alas, i have work to go to!
    Henry is so cute! Sometimes i see my cats face and he's all cute and then i go to take a picture and then suddenly he's turned off the cute. Tricky minx

    1. Very, very cute top.
    2. That's about 10 times as many garments as I sew in an average YEAR.
    3. Henry needs a hug. (Or, considering that he's a cat, a lap and some petting.) SUCH an adorable face!

    Sooooo cute! He is gorgeous and a tattoo would be just the thing to celebrate his yummyness. I'm so excited about the new book as your first is my constant sewing companion. I managed to make some sleeves to go on the Portrait Blouse after reading tips in your book. Now I've got 5 short sleeved ones and a 3/4 sleeved one. Possibly the biggest collection of Portrait Blouses in the Southern Hemisphere!

    In other word I just made something from one of your patterns for Butterick (B5895, made the capris!) and I love it! Great pattern, well designed and not too hard to fit!

    Good luck on the massive undertaking. I can't wait to see the results. I've loved my copy of your first book since I got it for Christmas and a casual version seems like a perfect plan! I do love that top, too. Excited to see the Gertie version.

    I'm so looking forward to the new book! I have no trouble getting the special make bait & switch. The top you wore for your gig is excellent! If anyone can get those 35 pieces made on that time table it is you - you are an inspiration for me.

    I can only imagine! I don't sew that much in a year. But won't you pretty please take pictures of one of your faves as you go, so that later on you might do a sew along? Cutest gray kitty boy ever!
