If you're not sick of looking at pictures of me today, here's an outfit post for you! I decided I need to practice my new modeling skills at least a few times a week.
Here's what I wore to run some errands today.
Dress: My new roses dress, sans crinoline, self-drafted pattern
Sweater: J. Crew Jackie cardigan
Sweater clips: vintage, from eBay
Shoes: Spring Step "Bow" wedge
I managed to get my bangs to "hide" by sweeping them to the side and pinning them. It was a fun change for a bit.
Also, a few of you requested pics of my "grandma" shoes in action! Here they are:
I love them unapologetically. They are SO comfy and the peep toe shows off my pedi. And after all, vintage is what our grandmothers wore, right?
Your "Grandma shoes" are the most perfect compliment to your beautiful vintage inspired dress.
ReplyDeleteThe fact that they are very chic, pretty, comfortable and flatter your feet is the icing on the cake.
A great look to enhance any day!
You look absolutely lovely, Gertie, Grandma shoes and all. They look really comfy for running errands.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the sweater clip. I remember them from when I was a little girl! (Says something about my age, doesn't it?) I HAVE to get one, now that you've reminded me of them! Such a useful and decorative item!
Love your new outfit. The sweater guard is great. I have two of them I've discovered in thrift shops.
ReplyDeleteI think your shoes are cute.
I can't get over this dress! It's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNot tired yet. You look amazing. Really love that dress. I believe in wearing comfortable yet attractive shoes.
ReplyDeleteI love that blue-ish color up against the red and white of your dress! Such a great look! Your modeling skills looks stellar as does your great hair! Love the granny shoes too. Sometimes comfy shoes are a definite must! xoxo, Sunni
ReplyDeleteNice. I love that dress, and I think the shoes are the perfect compliment.
ReplyDeleteTwo thumbs up.
You are so damn chic, Gertie! I love ti! Bring on the Grandma Fashion!
ReplyDeleteLove the shoes. I bought a pair after your earlier post.
ReplyDeleteThey are only granny shoes if you wear support hose with them! I love love love the powder blue cardi with that dress, it brings the red into a wonderful tomato hue. I can't help wishing every color would skew orange though!
ReplyDeleteThis dress is so beautiful, and I love the blue-ish cardigan with the red and white print. So fresh and pretty.
ReplyDeletethis is adorable!
ReplyDeleteVery cute shoes! Don't see anything 'grandma-ish' about them...
ReplyDeleteI say wear the shoes with attitude. Love the sweater guard :-)
ReplyDeleteThe blue sweater really pops against the dress--such a pretty outfit! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! That dress is absolutely stunning, I can't wait to get started on learning how to shir the back of a dress and modiying a pattern. I love your style!!
ReplyDeletexoxo,

I too love that colour combo. I also like your daily outfit posts. I'm not sure why some readers can't just skip posts that don't interest them. Seems some just like to complain and feel in control. Don't be cyber managed!
ReplyDeleteHa Ha. Keep rocking the granny shoes. I had a pair of Ditto jeans that I refused to get rid of. I kept them for years until my ex threw them out. They were cherry red. I Loved Them!
ReplyDeleteThank you for not apologizing for your granny shoes. Half the shoes (and handbags) I've picked out in my life have been called "granny" (accusations from my mother, no less.) Lol. Thanks for standing up for vintage inspired comfort! I'm thinking about getting me a pair. ;)
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone remember the ivory print fabric criss cross sandals from Woolworths? I worked there ( cosmetics, thank you, Chicago) in the mid-late 70's and wore them all summers. best old lady shoes ever!
