ReplyDeleteva va voooom! or do we say that about the twiggy-ish aesthetic? let's call it just plain chic!
ReplyDeleteA whole room is dedicated to her wardrobe in the Saint-Laurent exhibition I visited yesterday at Petit Palais!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pieces included a velvet day coat with leg of mutton sleeves, a sequined tuxedo jacket and some gorgeous draped evening dresses. These, and the Belle de jour wardrobe, of course...
the Balmain dress is classic. Being of an age where I wore these fashions the first time around, I'm always reluctant to go back...wearing vintage makes me look a little too, well...vintage, myself. The Balmain dress is an exception. Anyone would look fabulous in it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful lipstick. I will win I will win I will win please please please.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid I had a green dress like the one on the right, complete with the pockets. My mother bought me a pair of white patent sandals to go with it and I thought I was the most beautiful little girl ever. Funny, but I'd totally forgotten that outfit until I saw this post!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how A Blue Gardenia's site is supposed to work which makes me sad because I WANT that vogue Couturier Dress pattern with the size 40 bust. It also makes me guilty about all my vintage patterns that I've been ignoring... I just hate pattern grading with a passion. Anyway.... lipstick please!

ReplyDeleteOoh, please pick me! I have the perfect fabric for such a pattern. Crossing my fingers and toes here.
ReplyDeleteOOHH! How I just LUV the Couturier Design! I must have a dress like that this coming summer - the simple elegance! I also need the hip pads... I am one of those unfortunate gals with no hips and bum - all bust, shoulders and broad back - nightmare when trying to find something to fit.
ReplyDeleteThis pattern is perfect to make multiples! Do these type of dresses flatter all shapes? I tend to look boxy :( Anyway, there might be only one way to find out :)
